School
of the Environment of Nanjing University has two undergraduate
majors: Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering; two
M.A. majors: Environmental Science and Environmental
Engineering; four Ph.D. major: Environmental Science,
Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning and Management
and Ecological Risk & Environmental Health; and one
post-doctoral Circulation Station for the major of Environmental
Science and Engineering.
School of the Environment has four concentrations: Environmental
Chemistry, Environmental Biology, Environmental Planning and
Management, and Environmental Engineering. The school has ”°State
Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Resource Reuse”±(Co-constructed
with Tongji University).
At present, the School has 1 Academician of China Engineering
Academy£¬30
Professors (among whom 24 are qualified Ph. D. Supervisors) and
23 Associate Professors. The school has also undertaken numbers
of national, provincial, ministerial, and local research
projects. Tens of science and research achievements have passed
the provincial or ministerial appraisals. Many of these
achievements have won varieties of awards and prizes. The theses
published on the SCI have overstepped other environmental units
in the last 4 years.
The school has been keeping academic contacts with foreign
countries and regions, such as Britain, European Communities,
Japan and Hong Kong. It has already established a
long-term relationship of cooperation. The school has selected
some teachers and students to visit or further studies in many
foreign universities.
